Example tours
In the past ten years we have made many small tours on weekends and on holidays. Very often we did do that with a Nordic Trike with hand drive. Of course, the travel speed with the heavier trike (and possibly still luggage) is smaller than with the bike, but you are rewarded with other apparent little things: photo is always ready to hand next to the seat, you do not even have to stand up for a good picture...
2016: 1000 meters in altitude on the Brocken (Harz Mountains)
From Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains it is almost 1000 metres altitude to the Brocken peak. Reason enough to try it in 2018 with a Nordic quad with hand drive and electrical support.
The full 250 W electrical support was rarely used, but about 800 Wh out of two batteries were consumed until the summit.

2010: With the Nordic Quad in the Thuringian Forest
A Nordic quad with hand drive has received "snow chains", i.e. we wrapped a chain around every rear tire. This also drives well on the water ice near the Rennsteig. From around 10 cm of snow depth, however, the quad with hand drive also lacks the power to come through the snow.

2021: With the Nordic Trike to the Leuchtenburg castle at the Saale Valley
A Nordic trike with hand drive has been used with MTB chain circuit with 1 x 11 gears and a 26" rear wheel. Reason enough to try whether we come here to the Leuchtenburg castle near Kahla and back. The total was of about 70 km with more than 500 metres in altitude.

2009: Camping in Iceland along the Ringstrasse
We wanted to test the trikes and quads in Iceland. Since they are not to be transportable on an air plane, we have loaded a trike and a quad onto a car trailer with dismounted wheels. Among them in the trailer were the tents and the camping equipment. Two bicycles were also fitted on the bicycle carrier at the car.
So we came by ferry to Seydisfjördur in the east of Iceland and then did drive parts of the ring road from campground to campground. One often drove with a trike or quad (both with hand drive) parallel to the car, which takes 30 to 60 km to the nearest campground.
The hand drive has proven itself on the often long gradients over several hundred altitude meters, because it relieves the legs slightly about power.

approx. 800 metres altitude from the port in Seydisfjördur have to be overcome
The quad with its full car body was a real good whether protection at Iceland, the driver has been sitting in it all the time with Nicki and sports pants no matter how much it has rained. Because the volcanic island of Iceland has such low humidity, there has never been a slice. In Germany or elsewhere with high humidity, this is unthinkable. Here, the windshield must be folded up in every rain, even at the risk that the driver will become somewhat damp.

2021: Short winter trip around the home village
In 2021 there was also enough snow around the village. Because the wheels on the Nordic Trike are easy to change thanks to only one "wheel screw", the coarse MTB tyres (24" x 2.1) were done on it and ridden with only about 1 bar.
A trike with two driven rear wheels and hand drive then has almost qualities like a 4WD car (more than 75% of the weight on driven wheels and only the 20" front wheel has to be pushed through the snow). Of course, even better with an additional electric drive.

2017: Circumnavigation of Müritz lake with Camping
We camped at the Müritz lake in Mecklenburg Germany for two weeks. The Müritz is the largest lake there and a circumnavigation on cycling and hiking trails is about 100 km long. Since there is terminal moraine landscape, there are always short, steep climbs and descents in the otherwise flat area.
A two single-person tent, sleeping mat, etc., fit the side luggage from the Nordic Trike well on the side luggage carrier, and that we have done a circumnavigation of Müritz lake in two days. The approximately 15 kg of luggage ran through the terminal moraines thanks to additional hand drive. After about 60 km there was a campground for us.
Everything that is needed for tenting fits on the two side luggage carriers
2021: Geiseltal Lake with Nordic Trike and dog
At Merseburg there is a flooded former lignite opencast mine - the Geiseltal lake. A beautiful cycle path with a view of the lake leads all around. Our shepherd's female went well with the 25 km round on the Nordic Trike. The right rear wheel of the trike was dressed up in such a way that neither dog nor leash could collide with it.

2010: Oder Neiße cycle path
River bike paths are an ideal terrain for all types of bicycles, almost only flat route and usually very well served for bicycle tourists.
Only to get up and down the dam had to be mastered of gradients. Day trips with 100 to over 200 km could be mastered well. On a well-set recumbent wheel seat you still seat nicely even after 8 hours and thanks to the hand drive, no legs or knees are overloaded.
